Llanrwst CC 144-7; Caerhun 70 all out

The Robertson Cup final between Llanrwst and Caerhun at Colwyn Bay was a more straight forward affair with The Rwsters claiming victory by 74 runs. Llanrwst batted first and despite losing a wicket in the first over, a good stand from Eryl Jones 54 ret and Leighton Griffiths 40 lay the foundation for a total of 144 for 7. Tom Roberts pick of the bowlers with 2-35.

In reply Caerhun struggled against some excellent Llanrwst bowling and lost batsmen cheaply at regular intervals. Caerhun had no answer to the excellent left arm swing bowling of young Scott Thomas who cleaned up their middle order taking 5-15. Only Simon Beard with 16 offered any resistance for Caerhun who lost their last wicket for 70.

Well done to Alex Evans and his side who have secured the trophy after coming so close in recent seasons.

Llanrwst finally lay claim to the Robertson Cup after being unable to fulfil the 2007 final, losing the 2008 final and losing a semi-final bowl-out in 2009!
