COLWYN BAY & DISTRICT CRICKET LEAGUE
(Founded 1965)
WEEK 13: Monday 23rd - Wednesday 25th July 2007
Llandrillo College, Division 1 runners up last season, saw their time in the First Division come to an end this week when their final league game was cancelled due to a waterlogged outfield at Bodlondeb. Opponents, and relegation rivals, Rhos Fynach Taverners were happy with this year's bad weather for the first time in 2007 as the result ensured their survival. Llanrwst's fine end of season form continued as their 8 wicket victory over Abergele CC pushed them into third place in the First Division. Abergele were all out for only 82 runs before Huw Williams (51retired) eased his team to victory.
Also relegated this week were Robertsons as their Division 2 game with Mochdre Colts was cancelled due to a wet outfield. Robertsons are the only team without a win this season out of all 18 league teams! Colwyn Bay Rugby Club's victory over Lex XI leapfrogged them into second place in the division.
Caerhun were celebrating an instant return to the Second Division as they claimed the Third Division crown despite the Management Committee upholding their previous decision to dock them 5 points for re-arranging a fixture without consent Congratulations to Mike Duckett and his team.
Division 2 champions Mochdre CC claimed the scalp of Division 1 leaders Ysgol Pen Y Bryn in the semi-finals of the Robertson Cup and now await the winners of the Llanrwst v Mochdre Colts match in the final.
